Hi there,
I’m Erika Helwig, also known as E. Louise. With 12+ years of experience in the baking industry, I’ve committed myself to the art of recipe development.
My journey began in my own home kitchen, where my passion for baking ignited. In 2013, I had left teaching & my son was 5 months old. Why not start a business? From those humble beginnings, I ventured into the world of brick and mortar in 2018, where I baked & taught for 3+ years until our building got sold & we had to leave. Sad.
But when a door closes, you just climb out the window, fall on your face, & dust yourself off.
So, here I am, back in my home kitchen still doing what I love! I ventured away from custom cakes & concentrate on recipe development & helping others with eBooks & workshops.
A few years ago, I decided to start a Bakery Cart & it’s been the coolest thing in this journey so far!
Every weekend, I have an assortment of treats in my self-serve bakery cart to pick up on the fly.
As for my academic journey, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Oakland University. Drawing upon my background in education, I impart my knowledge and expertise to students, providing them with valuable insights into the art of business and baking.
When I’m not working? I love spending time with my 2 kids and husband, my close girlfriends, & I love reading, hiking, traveling & finding all the bakeries to try all the things. Wanderlust fuels my soul.
